A few days ago the alarm sounded that Google was planning the development of a new operating system whose name was Fuchsia OS . A news of such magnitude could not go unnoticed and there have been many rumors that we can read through the network, one of the most widespread is that Fuchsia OS could replace Android .

Without getting carried away by rumors, let's try to stick to official sources and shed some light on this new Google project with such a colorful name.

What do we know for sure about Fuchsia OS at the moment?

We know that a repository has appeared on Github with the name Fuchsia managed by Google workers (Christopher Anderson and Brian Swetland) , and the repository links to an official Google website.

The description of the project that we can read in Github is "Pink + Purple == Fuchsia (a new Operating System)" , which gives us the certainty that it will be a new operating system.

Next we find the Magenta project, which is a kernel or kernel based on the LittleKernel project. Without going into many technicalities and saving the distances, we would say that this core would resemble the Linux kernel that Android currently uses. Through this core it is intended that Fuchsia OS support mobile devices, PCs and even Raspberry Pi.

As for the rest of the features of the operating system, it seems that Google will use Dart as a programming language. Recall that this programming language has been designed by Google itself as a more robust alternative to Javascript.

As for the user interface, Flutter will be accompanied by Escher , a rendering engine capable of creating light effects and volumetric shadows. Everything indicates that Fuchsia OS's interface design will be with Material Design .

We do not want to go beyond this information based on the evidence and own documentation of the code, but it would not be surprising that Google bet for leaving Java after the demands of Oracle to Google and Fuchsia may be the plan for the future.
