Some time ago we saw how a project aimed at the internet of things came out of Google's hand, it was Project Brillo in which the communication protocol between devices that was baptized as Weave was also implemented . It seems that after a restructuring, Google has decided to rename and create a new ecosystem more in line with current reality, it is Android Things, a new operating system for the Internet of things .

As you can already imagine, Android Things is based on Android and is optimized to work with smart devices of all kinds .

Android Things, launch of the new operating system for the Internet of things.

The new Android Things has its foundations in Project Brillo and Weave, of which all the feedback received since its presentation last year is preserved. Starting from such a solid base and with a more appropriate name, Android Things has a promising future ready to be integrated with a multitude of small intelligent devices .

The whole preparation process goes through the creation of a new ecosystem that revolves around Android Things, so that smart objects can make use of updates, Google services, Android APIs and Google Play Services .

Within this release, the Weave communication protocol has also been renewed and basically serves to connect and communicate with intelligent devices.

All these developments are accompanied by a development image that is known as "Android Things SDK Preview" that we can flash on the device and start messing with it (for example, we can install it on a Raspberry Pi) .

There are thousands of devices that can benefit from this release, especially from the updates released by Google and we will not see massive hijacking of smart devices to make DDoS attacks.
