Conversation groups are very useful but can also be quite annoying at times as groups with many members and lots of activity can make our smartphone is constantly ringing, vibrating and showing notifications. With this, the consumption of the mobile data rate and internet consumption also increases, so we must have control over these aspects.
For quite some time the groups had an option to silence them so that although they showed notifications, the smartphone did not sound or vibrate and all conversations were shown in the form of silent notification. A solution to the previous problems, although not very well implemented.
A few months ago, the developers of WhatsApp began working improving the silence options of the groups to make this more useful for users who want to belong to groups but not be disturbed. The new versions of WhatsApp allow to silence the groups in the following times:
In the lower part we will see a new option called "show notifications" that will allow us to, apart from silencing the group during X time, WhatsApp will show us notifications on our smartphone or directly that said group does not show any notification so that everything it would be hidden and we could only know the activity of the group entering WhatsApp.
To access the group mute options, we must open that group in WhatsApp and open the options panel. In this panel we will select the option "mute" and it will show us a window similar to the following one.
Here we simply have to select the time and whether we want to show us the messaging client's notifications. We accept the previous window and the changes to the conversation group will automatically be applied. We will no longer receive notifications from that group until we deactivate the silence.
