The company Samsung Electronics has announced the launch of a new processor in the economic range, mainly aimed at low-end smartphones and IoT. The name of this new processor is Exynos 7570 and it is built with 14nm FinFET technology.
This SoC will be used for low-cost low-end smartphones and it is also an ideal processor for those devices that do not require a very high processing capacity and video rendering.
One of the most important features of the Exynos 7570 is that it has WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity included . This avoids having to resort to third party manufacturers to include these hardware elements and as a direct consequence, the size of the devices is reduced.
Another benefit of this new processor is the leap that has given to manufacturing with 14nm technology , compared to its predecessors built with 28nm technology, the Exynos 7570 will bring a 70% performance increase and will gain 30 % energy efficiency . Undoubtedly, two very interesting aspects that will increase the battery life of the device that incorporates this SoC.
The Exynos 7570 is equipped with four A53 cores , but for the moment the GHz is unknown. Another unknown is that the GPU is not named, nor is precise information given, they only inform that it will support resolutions of up to 1280 × 800 pixels . Seeing this maximum resolution supported, we can imagine that the GPU will not stand out due to its power.
It may not be a very exciting release for users seeking the best features, but without a doubt, this is good news for consumers of low-end devices. As an inconvenience, the Exynos series of processors is closed source, so developers can not offer customized software, everything is in the hands of Samsung.
