Instant messaging applications have been a revolution in our homes, so much so that we can say without fear that great distances no longer exist. The new Google Allo instant messaging application is now available in the Play Store .

In a previous article we already commented as the rumors said that Google Allo would be launched yesterday, but did not want to do this article until having thoroughly tested this new application. In short I can say that I found it very complete, but I doubt that it becomes a rival for WhatsApp.

The Google Allo instant messaging application is now available for download.

Google has made several bets in communication applications, but live together, while Google Duo deals with video calls, Google Allo focuses on instant messaging . One drawback that I have found is that it can not be used in tablets or even if it has SIM card support (at least for the moment).

Following the line of Duo, Google Allo is an application with a simple interface that allows its use to any user. After installing the application we will have to verify our account with a phone number , obtaining a code through SMS or with the verification call. There can only be one device associated with an Allo account.

One of the functionalities that aroused more interest in the application was the new personal assistant . After testing it, I think it is still at a very early stage and that it will improve over time. Note that the assistant at the moment does not understand the Spanish language, only English.

In terms of privacy, encryption of messages is present, but to everyone's surprise, Google stores our messages on their servers . Although the messages are stored encrypted, Google can decrypt them and have access to them. This has caused a stir, as Google promised that Allo would stand out for his safety. From Google have not been slow to justify saying that this is done so that your new assistant can learn human language.

Seeing that Google will store and access all my conversations, Allo does not give me enough confidence to use it every day, do you?
