Some time ago we wrote a small tutorial on how to prepare the Android smartphone for emergency situations and from today we can add a new application to the list of Play Store downloads. This is the new Trusted Contacts app launched by Google that will help us act in emergency situations.

Prevention is the key to not having to take drastic measures in emergency situations. Being prepared to act in a situation of this kind in advance, can even be the difference between life and death.

Google launches the Trusted Contacts application for emergency situations.

Let's talk about the Trusted Contacts application that we find in the Play Store completely free of charge . Its functionality is double, on the one hand it allows us to send distress messages to our trusted contacts and on the other hand, it allows our trusted users to know our location.

Once the Trusted Contacts application is installed, it is associated with our Google account and we can now add the "trusted contacts" directly from our agenda.

These contacts will have sufficient permits to request our location and in case there is no response they will be able to alert the emergency services. If more than 5 minutes pass and there is no response, the location will be automatically shared, so the trusted contact will know the coordinates of our geographic location. We can also share our location at any time voluntarily.

This may seem like a small assault on our privacy, but the app itself allows you to restrict certain contacts so that they can not request our location or even allow you to disable this request in general .

Nowadays smartphones are the best companion that can take us out of dangerous situations, allowing us to ask for help quickly, so do not miss this advantage.
