WhatsApp is an application designed initially to be executed only on smartphones. Officially it has no support for tablets or computer clients, however, there are companies that have focused on creating Android emulators that allow us to use WhatsApp without the need to have a smartphone for it.
There are many different emulators. In this article we are going to show you how to run WhatsApp on a computer thanks to one of the most veteran people called BlueStacks.
Preparing our system for BlueStacks
Before starting with the installation of BlueStacks we must install several packages in our operating system in order to run BlueStacks without problems in it. The first thing to download is the Android SDK, which is the one that includes all the files and all the dependencies to be able to program and emulate the Google operating system on a PC.
To download the Android SDK we must access the Android developers website and download the SDK package.
Once downloaded, we install it in our operating system by executing the "SDK Manager" file and installing the packages that appear by default.
Once the installation of the Android SDK is finished we must also install the Java JDk, necessary for BlueStacks to work correctly. To download the JDK we must access the Java web page and download the latest available version from there.
Once downloaded, we install it in our system. We already have all the necessary packages installed, so we can proceed to download and install the emulator in question: BlueStacks.
Download and install BlueStacks
BlueStacks is a free emulator, so we can download it without any cost from its official website .
Click on the "Download APP Player" button and download the installer in question. Once the file is downloaded (it takes around 5MB) we will run it and we will see the installation wizard.
The installation is very simple. It will be enough to follow the assistant, select the route where we are going to install the program, and we will arrive at a window similar to the following one.
To prevent BlueStacks from showing us advertising on our computer we must unmark the third option called "Subscribe to Spotlight" and continue with the assistant leaving only the first 2 options checked.
By using this emulator the Android SDK itself and the Java JDK the installation is very fast and does not take up too much additional space.
