Most users when they connect to a Wi-Fi network and subsequently leave the place they leave the Wi-Fi on that is constantly looking for new networks and consuming battery. There are applications specially designed so that when leaving a location the Wi-Fi will automatically turn off and will not turn on again until another previously registered Wi-Fi network is reached. One of these applications is Wi-Fi Matic.

This application, unlike others, does not use GPS to calculate the user's location but it identifies the cells of the connected telephone antennas so that the application will know if we are in the place configured according to the antennas to which we are connected and, if so, it will activate the Wi-Fi automatically to connect us to the network and, when leaving the location, it will automatically disconnect to save battery.

Wi-Fi Matic is a totally free application that can be downloaded directly from the Play Store . Once downloaded, we install it on our device and execute it. The first thing that will appear will be an assistant that we must complete to configure the application. First of all we must enable the application so that it begins to monitor the activity.

The second step will show us the network to which we are connected and for which the location data will be stored.

To finish, the third step will indicate that the process has been carried out correctly and we can end the assistant.

Then we will see the window of options for the application.

From here we can enable or disable the application, automatically memorize the new networks to which we connect and change the frequency with which the program will analyze our location to activate or deactivate Wi-Fi depending on whether we are on the correct antennas or not .

In the second tab we can see the networks that we have stored in the program.

If we click on one of them we will see several options (auto-ignite, auto-turn off) and we will see the registered antennas next to the possibility of modifying them according to our needs.

The third tab of the program allows us to configure a schedule in which the Wi-Fi will be turned off automatically. This is very useful, for example, to disconnect Wi-Fi at night and automatically connect in the morning to our network to wake up.

The last tab shows a history of all the activity of Wi-Fi Matic, however, to enable this function we must make a donation of 0.89 euros to the developers. With this history we can consult at any time the connections made by the program, know the times you have enabled and disabled Wi-Fi and more.

A very useful application for all those who want to automate the Wi-Fi on / off process to save battery.
