Creating a Wi-Fi hotspot in a Windows system is very useful, for example, if we want to share our local connection with other devices (smartphones, tablets, game consoles, etc.) to which the wireless signal does not arrive correctly or we simply have the computer connected by cable without a Wi-Fi hotspot available.
There are several ways to convert our computer into a wireless access point, both from Windows itself (although Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 have complicated this task) and using third-party applications that facilitate the task of creating these access points. Maryfi is an application designed specifically for this purpose.
Maryfi is a totally free and free application of malware and unwanted software that can be downloaded from its main website . Once the download is complete, we will install the application in our operating system.
Once the installation is finished, before we can use this tool we must also download and install the Microsoft Virtual Wi-Fi Miniport Adapter tool which is a package of drivers for the operating system that allows you to connect several devices at the same time to a single network card since, without this application, our access point might not work as we wish.
Once installed everything we execute Maryfi and we will see a window similar to the following one.
In it we must configure the following sections:
- Wi-Fi Name: The name we want to give to our access point.
- Password: The password with which we will protect the access point.
We also click on the button "View Network Connections to Setup Internet Sharing" to enable on the network card with which we will share (the Wi-Fi card generally) the function of allowing other devices to connect to it and use the connection to internet from our computer.
Once the program is configured, we must simply click on "Start Hotspot" and the access point of our computer will be enabled so that exploring the available networks from any other device will appear and allow us to connect to it with the corresponding password.
We must bear in mind that it is necessary to have a Wi-Fi network card that allows the connection of several devices and have installed in our system the most updated driver, otherwise, the Maryfi access point can not be created.
