Most of the users of a smartphone have contracted with our operator a data rate to be able to connect to the Internet from anywhere. This data rate is used mostly from the device, but we can also use it to connect from a computer when we do not have an Internet connection (for example, from the beach or the institute) through the "Wi-Fi Zone" function.

  1. To enable a wireless access point on our Android device, we must open the settings menu and look at the section on "wireless connections and networks".
  2. Click on the "More ..." button to access another list of options and we will see the following menu on our screen.
  3. Here we must click on "Anchoring to network and Wi-Fi zone to access the configuration screen of the wireless access point.
  4. The first thing we are going to do is set a password so that our traffic between the laptop (in the case of using it for that purpose) and the smartphone is encrypted and also prevent unauthorized persons from connecting to our device and take advantage of our tariff. data to navigate the network. For this we will press on the entry "Configure Wi-Fi zone" and we will see a window similar to the following one.
  5. In the section of the SSID we will put the name with which we want to identify our network, for example, AdslZone_AP. In security we configure the type of password that we are going to establish, for example, WPA2_PSK (the highest) and to finish in the password section we will write the access code with which we will protect our access point. Once configured, the screen will be similar to the following one.
  6. Click on "Save" and the changes will be saved in the memory of our device. We already have the access point configured, the only thing we need is to enable the entry "Portable Wi-Fi Zone" and wait a few seconds for the connection to be enabled. Once ready we will see a notification like the following and we can see the Wi-Fi network from any other device capable of looking for wireless networks.

To establish the connection from the second device, we must select our AdslZone_AP network and enter the key that we have specified. Once the connection is finished we will be navigating through the data network of our mobile. We must bear in mind that these connections are limited and surfing the web from a computer usually consume much more data than doing it from a smartphone, so if we are not careful we can finish the available megabytes and we will also be without Internet in our smartphone.
