Today we have some excitement about the application of video calls that comes to us from Google and that so many users look forward to. This is
Google Duo
, an application that allows you to make video calls easily.
From Google, aware of the success of other applications for its simplicity of use to not require registration or excessive steps to launch the application, have opted for a
simple application of video calls
.
Launch of Google Duo, video calls in a simple way.
In the month of May Google had presented two projects of messaging applications, on the one hand we had
Google Allo, an instant messaging application
and on the other hand Google Duo. At the moment we know nothing about Google Allo, but
Google Duo is starting to distribute from Google Play gradually in all countries
.
Google Duo is compatible with Android and iOS, so video calls can be made between devices with different operating systems. The purpose of the application is to make video calls between two devices, so in principle it will not offer group calls.
The simplicity lies in that when installing the application, it is associated with our phone number, which will allow us to contact those users who have the application and are in our contact list.
To make things easier, Google Duo has implemented the "Knock Knock" functionality, which allows you to see a video of the caller before accepting the video call. With a simple and minimalist interface, the application will be available to anyone.
Another of the great adaptations, is the possibility of using it with WiFi or mobile data, the application will optimize the video call so that the quality is optimal. If the application itself detects that the quality of the transfer through WiFi is bad, it will automatically use the mobile data.
It is expected that throughout the day the application will be released. In my case I have access to
Google Play
from Spain and only the pre-registration option is available. We will see if Google Duo achieves the expected success and is able to rival Facetime or Skype.
