Yesterday Google put online the
official page
of
Android Nougat 7.0
, which served as a clue that the new operating system would arrive very soon. Today we can say that
Nexus devices can now update Android 7.0 Nougat
, thus being the first to incorporate the new version of Android.
As we reported from
Smartphonezine
a few weeks ago, the launch of Android Nougat was planned for the month of August. In the new official page we can discover in detail all the news that will bring.
It is now possible to upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat.
Google always manages updates to a new operating system gradually, so that different devices receive the update progressively over several weeks.
As expected, the devices that will receive the update to Android 7.0 Nougat are: Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Pixel C, Nexus Player and Nexus 9.
This leaves the Nexus 5 without update.
There is a simple way to avoid waiting and receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update now. This method is to sign up for the Android Beta program from
this link
and you will surely receive the pending update notification in a few minutes. Despite being a reliable method, I
recommend making a backup of the important files before starting the update process
.
If your smartphone is from another manufacturer, you will have to go to its official website and look for information, but devices with more than one year of life are very unlikely to receive operating system updates.
With Nougat among us, we will have closer the world of
virtual reality in smartphones with Day Dream
. Another of the great innovations expected is the
multiventana
and the energy saving system
Doze On The Go
.
This also brings closer the launch of the
LG V20
, which will be
the first smartphone to be marketed with Android 7.0 Nougat series
.
