A couple of weeks ago Motorola announced the list of devices that would receive the update to Android 7.0 Nougat. Within the controversy that turned out to be this list for leaving out some recent models of the brand, the statement said that the Moto G4 will be one of the first devices to receive this update. Finally Motorola has just confirmed that the update is now available and that the Moto G4 will be updated gradually to Android 7.0 Nougat .

There were many users who questioned the policy of updates after purchase by Lenovo, but it seems that everything remains the same and Motorola keeps his word.

The Moto G4 will be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat over the coming weeks.

With Motorola's confirmation that the update for the Moto G4 is now available, we can only wait for it to arrive on our devices in the form of an OTA update. According to some sources, this update will be done gradually and will begin in Brazil and in case there are no problems, it will be expanded globally to the rest of the countries.

It should be clear that this update includes both the Moto G4 and the Moto G4 Plus and some of its innovations and improvements are:

  • Improvements in the Doze battery saving system .
  • Performance improvements thanks to the new JIT compiler.
  • Improvements in stability, security and accessibility after correcting different bugs.
  • New multi-window mode .
  • Improvements in notification management
  • New emojis
  • Optimization in data consumption.
  • New work mode "Android for Work" .
  • Improvements in the management and accessibility of the different device settings.
  • Now it is possible to block incoming calls.

The innovations that we have named so far are those of the Android 7.0 Nougat system, but Motorola has included its own novelties :

  • New one-hand mode , with which we can shrink the screen to one side and thus allow access to the entire screen with a single hand.
  • New option to turn off the screen with the fingerprint sensor. This will only be available in the Moto G4 Plus version, since the Moto G4 version does not have the fingerprint reader.
