Who has not joined a group of WhatsApp, Skype or any other instant messaging application and has seen how your phone does not stop receiving notifications with the patience of one. This is a big problem and is that it will not allow us to distinguish those really important notifications from those that are annoying , for that reason in this small tutorial we are going to show you how to avoid annoying duplicate notifications .

How to avoid annoying duplicate notifications on Android.

It is no longer necessary to completely silence the chat groups to let us rest, there is an application that allows us to set limits on the number of notifications we can receive from the same application in a certain period of time.

The application we are talking about is called Mutifier and is available in the Google Play Store completely free of charge. The only requirement of this simple application is to have a version of Android 5.0 Lollipop or higher.

You can download Mutifier from the following link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?hl=en&id=com.iniro.mutifier

After installing Mutifier we proceed to open the application and see how it requests permission to access the notifications, so we give "Accept" and follow the steps:

  • We access the advanced mode within Mutifier and select the option that says "Applications ..." to go to select that application that we want to manage the notifications, for example WhatsApp (we can select all the applications that we want) .
  • The next step will be to select in the main screen the time interval between notifications , that is, the time that we want to pass between one notification and the next one of the same application. I usually use 30 seconds and I have never missed anything interesting, I always arrive in time to read the messages.

As you can see, with this application we will convert instant messaging applications into something that does not interrupt or annoy us every second, without having to completely silence the groups.
