The instant messaging application of the big social networks has curdled quite well among users around the world. A few days ago we knew how Facebook monetized this application, which already has more than 1,000 million users . Now Facebook surprises us with the launch of Rooms, a system of public chat groups in which up to 250 people can participate .
This idea is not something innovative or that breaks molds, it is an idea similar to traditional chat rooms, in fact, Facebook already experimented with something similar some time ago but did not finish convincing the users . Now the Facebook Messenger application will gain more weight and may win more followers.
Imagine for a moment that you have a hobby that none of your friends share. It is evident that for a lot of interesting information that you share about that hobby, none of your friends will be interested and will ignore your publications.
This is where Facebook Rooms comes into play, which will try to unite people with similar interests and thus share experiences and information. You no longer need to have people on your list of friends to talk about your hobbies, it will be enough to join a public room and start interacting with other people.
Each chat room will have an administrator, who will be the one who manages the requests to join the group and will even be able to expel people in case it is over done. These public chat rooms can be searched and discovered from the application itself.
At the moment Facebook Rooms is only available in Australia and Canada, but it is expected that once a trial period passes, it will be extended to the rest of the countries. If this new functionality is successful, it will mean a great change in the use of social network chats and that it will also benefit Facebook economically.
