Today we announce the functionality that is undoubtedly the most anticipated since the game Pokémon Go was launched, it is the official radar that allows us to locate nearby Pokémon and thus capture them more easily .

Neither is it a radar with rocket functionality, but at least it's a good start. Things were getting bad for Niantic and they knew that sooner or later they would have to face the radar issue, something that virtually all Pokémon Go players were claiming .

At last we have official radar in Pokémon Go for Android.

Good news for fans of the game, because after a brief trial period of the new radar, it finally arrives in Europe and Spain of course. At first, this radar was tested in certain US cities, then it was launched throughout the US and finally we have it in Europe.

As we already anticipated at the beginning of the article, the radar is not the best we could hope for, but something is something. The official Pokémon Go radar for Android works like this:

  • We have to go towards a Poképarada, since the radar only works when we are near them. Once you get away, you can forget about the radar, a limitation to consider.
  • Once we are close enough to the Poképarada, we click on the list of detected Pokémon and you will see that now in the list it says "Cerca" instead of "Sightings".
  • When we click on a Pokémon in the list we see the number of tracks, the more tracks, the farther the Pokémon in question will be. Remember that each footprint is approximately 100 meters of travel.

You have already seen that the operation of this new radar is somewhat limited, although at least there is something to fall back on. I must also remind you that during these Christmas days Niantic is expected to launch an update with the second generation of Pokémon, which would add 100 more species to the list.
