Play Store is one of those applications that is part of the ecosystem of Google Apps but has a special relevance, because we depend on it for much of the management of our applications. We started with the first update of 2017 for Play Store, it is the Play Store 7.4 version and includes several new features.

Play Store is one of the applications that more changes and updates suffer throughout the year. This exhaustive maintenance allows us to keep our smartphones updated to enjoy the latest applications and at the same time allows developers to offer better content.

News from Play Store 7.4, soon on your devices.

The news comes to us from Android Police, where they have analyzed the internal code of the new update to Play Store 7.4. They have gutted the XML files to find changes and improvements introduced, since Google does not usually provide a detailed record of the changes introduced in each Play Store update.

The first novelty and perhaps the most interesting is the possibility to filter the section "My applications" with different options. With this change, the aim is to identify applications in a simpler and faster way. The new filters allow you to sort the apps by:

  • Size (filters according to the space they occupy in storage) .
  • Alphabetical order.
  • Last updated.
  • Used for the last time.

We see that these four new filters will allow us to easily identify those applications that occupy more or less that we use.

The second novelty introduced affects shared family applications, restricting purchases without prior authorization from the owner . The owner can choose to authorize purchases within the application or can deactivate them completely. This affects the system of sharing applications with up to six relatives, which at the moment in Spain is not available.

Finally and still unconfirmed, it seems that the Play Store will require the installation of Google Play Games mandatorily .
