Personal assistants are currently occupying many of the front pages of the media, they seem an instrument of the future and are increasingly present in our technological devices. Today we are going to show you a way to activate Google Assistant on any smartphone with Android 7 Nougat .
Before going further, I will make it clear that we will be able to activate Google Assistant, but as it is currently only available in English, the instructions are received in English . The most immediate consequence of this is that in order for the assistant to start operating the language of our smartphone, we must configure it to be English .
At this point, if you have a smartphone with Android 7 Nougat and English is not a problem for you, you can move on.
How to have Google Assistant on any smartphone with Android 7 Nougat.
Until recently there was a method to activate Google Assistant by falsifying the identity of our device by modifying the build.prop file manually, but now the process is automated. The new method comes to us from the XDA-Developers community and we will need to make use of a customized recovery for the installation of an unsigned package .
If you do not know what a personalized recovery is, you will have to use Google and be patient with a good tutorial on how to install the TWRP or CWM recovery in your specific smartphone model.
The next step is to download the ZIP file of the module that we have to install. For this we go to this post of XDA-Developers and download the file according to the architecture of our processor (arm, arm64 or x86) .
Now we enter the recovery and make a "wipe cache" . Then from the install option of the recovery, proceed with the installation of the downloaded file of XDA-Developers.
We only have to restart the device and change the language to English from the device configuration. From here, you can try speaking in English with Google Assistant.
