It is very important to maintain a correct configuration of the different privacy options in all social programs. We must always choose which people we want to see our states, our photographs and our connections. WhatsApp is a program used by a large number of people, which means that an incorrect configuration can allow third parties to spy or gossip without us knowing.

In the latest versions of WhatsApp have added 3 privacy options highly requested by users. The first one allows us to hide our last connection (only possible with third-party applications), the second allows us to hide our status image from unwanted people and the third allows us to hide our status phrase.

To access these privacy options we must follow the following steps:

Within WhatsApp we will select the option "Settings" to enter the configuration of the program.

WhatsApp_privacidad_foto_1

Once in the configuration click on "Account info".

WhatsApp_privacidad_foto_2

And there we will select the option of "Privacy". Next we will see a window similar to the following one.

WhatsApp_privacidad_foto_3

Here we have the different privacy options to choose and configure according to our needs. As we can see, we have 3 different sections:

  • Last time (last connection)
  • Profile picture
  • State

Each of these options can be configured individually according to 3 factors:

  • Everyone (allows everyone to see it)
  • My Contacts (Allows only numbers stored in the phonebook to see them)
  • Nobody (Nobody will be able to see it, neither people nor contacts)

We must configure this function according to our needs. A good configuration will block the view of our photograph to all but contacts, allow everyone to see our state and the view of the last connection depending on whether we want others to know when we connect or not. We must bear in mind that, for example, if we block our last connection we will not be able to see the last connections of the others.

With this we can have our WhatsApp a little more private.
