Having a control of the users that connect to our WiFi network is very important especially to know possible unauthorized users that have "pirated" our wireless network and are using our bandwidth to surf the net or download files. In previous articles we have already talked about several applications for different platforms that allow users to check the network according to their device.
Following with the tools to check the equipment that is connected to our WiFi network we reach Network Discovery. This free application will allow us to check from a smartphone with Android who is connected to our router to identify potential unauthorized users who have gained access to our network.
We can download this application for free from the Play Store .
The use of this program is very simple. Once downloaded from the Play Store will be installed on our device. Once downloaded, we execute it and we will see the main window of the application.
To start looking for all the hosts connected to our router, we must click on the "Discover" button. The program will automatically analyze our entire network and show us information about all the devices connected to it.
Once the exploration is finished we will see a window similar to the following one.
As we can see, the information that shows us is the most basic: IP, MAC and manufacturer. However, we can click on the equipment that we want and we will obtain more information, such as services and ports opened by the host in our network.
If we detect any service enabled on the host we are analyzing, for example, SSH, we can connect automatically from Network Discovery without the need to use additional applications for it, a fact that greatly simplifies the access to the computer, for example, through SSH .
As we can see, Network Discovery is a fairly simple tool, with fewer functions than similar ones like Fing but which perfectly fulfills its purpose.
