Wireless networks are very easy to exploit. A user with little knowledge can exploit a network in a short time and obtain the weakest or default passwords that come with most wireless devices.

Wireless Network Watcher is a program more specifically designed to analyze the network and show all the devices that are connected to it. This program does not offer many additional functions as it may be the case of other similar programs, however, it is a highly recommended option for all those users without advanced knowledge of networks who do not want to use a complicated program that causes problems with the different options.

Wireless Network Watcher can be downloaded completely free from its main website.  We can choose if we want to download the installer of the program or the portable version according to our tastes and our needs.

Once downloaded (in our case the portable version that does not need installation) unzip it and we will see 3 files. To start using Wireless Network Watcher we must execute the exe file.

Once the program starts, it will automatically analyze our entire network and show us all the devices it detects.

We can obtain more information about any of the devices by double clicking on it. The main data we will obtain about this are:

  • IP adress
  • Device Name
  • MAC address
  • Maker
  • Number of times detected
  • First time seen on the net
  • Active

To re-analyze simply we must press the F5 key and it will reload all the results. In case any of the detected devices does not match those that we have connected, we must take the necessary measures to prevent that device from continuing to connect and using our network without permission.

As we can see, a very simple tool that perfectly fulfills its function.
