The modest OnePlus spec model seemed abandoned by the manufacturer, but it seems that with the support of the community they have released an update to OxygenOS 3.1.0 for the OnePlus X.

This version of OxygenOS 3.1.0 is based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and at the moment it is in testing phase, so it is not considered official at this time.

Update to OxygenOS 3.1.0 (community build) for OnePlus X.

As it is not an OTA update, you have to manually flash the OnePlus X, which is always a risk if you do not have the necessary knowledge.

In the forums of OnePlus you can find all the information in English of OxygenOS 3.1.0. You have to read carefully that this is an unofficial build for the community to test and send their feedback. Once this testing phase is over, the launch is expected to be made official through the OTA.

In the forum itself they already warn that this build of OxygenOS can generate some problems like:

  • Instability in the network in some countries.
  • Some applications may be incompatible and not work properly.
  • The translations for the different countries are not completely finalized.

As for the news of OxygenOS 3.1.0 for OnePlus X, it will include the improvements of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and in addition:

  • New packs of icons.
  • Improvements in the Google search bar interface.
  • A new selector of wallpapers.
  • New OnePlus applications.
  • All security updates have been incorporated on August 1, 2016.
  • Improvements in the user interface and in the overall performance of the device.

Even after reading this, many users criticize that just at the time that Android 7.0 Nougat launches , the manufacturer OnePlus updates one of its terminals to the previous version of Android. There are many points of view on this, but in my opinion I think that having an update (even if it is not the latest version of Android) that includes all the security updates , is already more than 99% of the companies
