One of the main drawbacks of the vast majority of companies is the short term in which we will receive official updates. A few days ago HTC officially announced that it would update several of its models to Android 7.0 Nougat .

For a week we have a new version of Android 7.0 Nougat among us, so that companies have to get down to work and update their devices if they want to lose sales, but unfortunately only worry about upgrading flags or caps of range.

HTC confirms the update to Android 7.0 of several models.

According to the company's announcement, the first devices to receive the update to Android Nougat will be the HTC 10, the HTC ONE M9 and the HTC ONE A9 . These updates, but there are changes, are scheduled for launch from October 2016 .

Although these updates will be developed in the last quarter of the year, the free devices will receive the update to Android Nougat before the devices blocked by the telephone companies .

The manufacturer also make clear that the dates given are approximate, since each model requires a testing phase for the update and that is why some updates may be delayed until the beginning of 2017 .

The announcement does not name the HTC One M8 , its flagship two years ago, but surely this device will not receive any updates despite its short life span.

The statement also does not make clear what will happen with HTC Desire devices , which seem totally forgotten by the manufacturer, leaving its mid-range in a really compromised position.

Personally, these releases from the manufacturers when a new version of Android comes out, only serve to keep their competitive flagships in the market, leaving the middle range completely displaced and forgotten. But this is not something that happens on HTC, is something that happens in almost all manufacturers of smartphones.
