A few days ago we announced the exclusive launch for USA of the new model HTC Bolt , which already made us think that soon we would see the presentation of the new top of HTC range. And so it has been, a few hours ago that we have been able to witness the launch of the HTC 10 Evo, a high-end mobile phone that looks like it can only be purchased through the internet.

HTC does not stand out for offering quality / price relationships that seduce buyers, this is perhaps the most criticized point of the company. At the moment the official price of the HTC 10 Evo is not known, but everything points to that it will remain in the range of € 700.

To begin, we make a brief summary of the technical specifications of the HTC 10 Evo:

  • 5.5-inch Super LCD screen with QHD resolution and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
  • It equips an 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor (4x ARM Cortex A57 + 4x ARM Cortex A53) .
  • RAM memory: 3GB .
  • Internal storage: 32GB expandable by microSD card up to 2TB.
  • 8MP front camera and 16MP rear camera .
  • Battery with a capacity of 3200 mAh with fast charge.
  • Extras: fingerprint sensor, IP57 , NFC certification , etc.

Looking at the technical specifications, on paper they are nothing special, we could say that they are closer to the average range Premium than a top of the range. Where they do offer a differentiated product is a high resolution screen with the latest from Corning to protect it. They have also included the IP57 certification that makes it a waterproof and scratch resistant mobile phone .

It seems that the HTC 10 Evo gets on the car to eliminate the 3.5mm jack and bet on the audio through the USB Type-C port . The battery, although it has a fast charge, is based on Quick Charge 2.0 technology, when Quick Charge 3.0 is currently available and the first Snapdragon processor that will bring Quick Charge 4.0 has already been announced.
