If you are a WhatsApp user, surely you have more than one group that has given you notifications more than once and you have finished turning off the phone. With this latest version of WhatsApp, this problem ends because it allows you to
disable group notifications in WhatsApp
.
When we say deactivate, we are talking about completely
hiding and silencing group notifications
, so it will be our own will to check if there are messages in that new group since we will not receive any notification.
This is achieved by correctly configuring the options and then we will see step by step how it is done.
How to disable group notifications on WhatsApp
The first thing we have to do is update WhatsApp
to the latest version available on Google Play that at the time of writing this article is version 2.11.238 and already includes the option to totally silence WhatsApp groups.
If we already have updated WhatsApp we have to access the group that we want to silence and in the settings menu, which we access from the upper right corner we choose the option "Silence"
(see the following image)
.
In the new configuration screen that appears we must select the period during which the notifications will remain deactivated (8 hours, a day or a week) and we also have to uncheck the option
"Show notifications"
so that it looks like in the image of example we show below.
We only need to confirm the settings by pressing
"Ok"
and we will have the selected group totally silent during the selected period of time. Once this period of time passes, notifications will be automatically activated again and if we want to deactivate them we will have to repeat the process.
In the beta version of WhatsApp the option to silence a WhatsApp group is already available during the period of a century, so we believe it will be implemented in future stable versions of the program.
With these simple steps you will avoid the sometimes so annoying notifications of WhatsApp groups.
