The day of presentation of the AirPod it was clear to us that they were presented as compatible with Apple devices that had operating system Mac OS Sierra, Watch OS 3 and iOS 10. This led the press to describe them as only compatible with Apple devices, something that today it is denied.

As it was not very clear which connectivity system they would use, this caused confusion. There was a lot of talk about the elimination of the audio jack in the new iPhone 7 and the appearance of these new wireless headphones , but the details come later.

The new Apple AirPods work with any Bluetooth device.

Finally, Apple informed the media that AirPods work with any device with Bluetooth support , but that they only offer full functionality on Apple devices. In other words, the new technology that allows linking the AirPod with the device in a few seconds, access to the Siri assistant and automatic synchronization are lost in non-Apple devices.

If we lose all these functionalities, what we have left are a wireless headphones with a good design and expensive. For a price of € 179 , you have to think if it really is worth buying some AirPod "without magic".

The AirPod have 5 hours of autonomy and come with a case that serves as charger and battery. These headphones incorporate the so-called "lighting" technology thanks to the W1 chip.

Something that we have asked ourselves, is if the AirPod would be suitable to practice sports, we can say no. They fit well in the ears, but are for quiet situations, since a few jumps will fall. They also have a sensor that if for some reason we remove one of the headphones from the ear, the song that is playing stops automatically. They also incorporate another sensor that allows activating the Siri assistant.
