The capacity of the Android operating system has gone so far that there are many emulators that we currently have available for Windows. What we do not know is exactly why Google needs the Leapdroid team.

Google buys Leapdroid, an Android emulator for PC.

The news jumped when we accessed the official Leapdroid page , where we see a message saying that the team in charge of the development of Leapdroid joins Google and that they stop the development of the emulator .

A sad news, because we were many who used this emulator to play certain games or use some Android apps in Windows. The emulator is no longer available for download , although the message clearly states that if someone has it installed, you can continue using it without problems .

The acquisition of this group of developers by Google has aroused the curiosity of many. Some have crazy theories, while the logical thing to think is that Google needs people specialized in bringing Android to other operating systems.

Some say that the Leapdroid team may have to participate in the development of Andromeda , the operating system that we all expect Google to present and that will join Android and Chrome OS. Another possibility is that Google may want to integrate parts of Android in Fuchsia OS .

There are many other rumors, such as that Google is looking for the development of a faster emulator for Android Studio. We are not going to let more speculations, but what we have to be clear, is that Leapdroid as an emulator for Windows has disappeared .
