Many times I have wondered why, after a while, the smartphome is slower and tasks than before in less than a second, now takes forever . It is something that has happened to many and will continue to happen, there are many factors that can cause a drop in the performance of a smartphone over time and here we will analyze.

This is an article that we must take into account when we consider buying a second-hand smartphone, because perhaps it was not as good idea as we thought. Clarify that we are not going to take into account the battery section, since we are going to talk about performance, not autonomy.

Why does the performance of a smartphone decrease over time?

It is a difficult question to answer in a few lines, that is why we are going to analyze the different factors that affect the performance of a Smartphone over time:

  • Saturation of applications with services running in the background. This is a common enough reason, we install so many applications that we end up collapsing the Android device and consuming most of its resources with all the services that are running in the background. If this is our case, it has a solution and it starts by eliminating those apps that we do not use.
  • Degradation of NAND memory. It is inevitable that the NAND memory of our Smartphone degrades with the passage of time. The culprit is the operating system itself and the daily use, which after requesting millions of read and write operations, the memory ends up degrading and its performance is affected. If this is our case, there is no other solution but to buy a new device (many of you will be thinking about the word obsolescence programmed and you have thought well) . This is the main cause of the decline in performance in smartphones.
  • Obsolete technical specifications. Both the operating system and applications are accustomed to using new technologies, if our device is obsolete, surely its performance will decrease.
