The geolocation systems have evolved so much that we can now enjoy this technology in our mobile phones through GPS. Most of the time it is not enough to buy a smartphone that includes this technology, but you have to activate the GPS on your Android phone and in this article we show you how to do it.

There are many versions of Android and smartphones, but with the indications that will be detailed below you should have no problem when activating the GPS . It is also good to clarify that in the same way that it is activated, we can deactivate the GPS.

How to activate GPS on your Android mobile in a simple way.

To activate GPS in Android we have to access the general settings of our smartphone , either from the main screen if there is a direct access or from the settings icon, which can be found in the application drawer.

Once inside the general settings we select the option "Location" , from which we can activate the GPS or deactivate it. We can also find other options such as:

  • Recent location request: shows us the last application or service that has requested access to our location.
  • Camera: when we take a picture with the mobile camera you can add location information.
  • History of Google Locations: allows you to configure the options related to the data that Google keeps near our location.

At this point we must have several considerations when using our GPS. First of all I recommend keeping the GPS activated only while we use it , since its use consumes energy and therefore we reduce the battery life.

The second reason why we must keep GPS activated only when we use it, is that it can compromise our privacy through third-party applications, even Google collects information about our location .

I recommend you take a look at another tutorial where we show you a little trick to improve the GPS location .
