Until less than a decade ago, we all spoke of "mobile" however, the arrival of Apple's iPhone changed everything by popularizing the term "smartphone" however, what does that really mean from Smartphone? What is a Smartphone and why do we now talk more about smartphones than mobile?
As you may have appreciated, the concept "smartphone" comes from the English language and its translation is literal; it is a word composed of two words, "smart", which means intelligent, and "phone", whose translation is telephone. Therefore, a smartphone is nothing more than a "smart phone".
As we anticipated, the Smartphone became popular from 2007 with the introduction of Apple's original iPhone, and we say "popularized" because, although it supposed a revolution in the sector, the fact is that there were already smartphones before the appearance of the device of the Apple.
The
Smartphone as such could be defined
as the logical evolution of the mobile phone based on the technological advances of recent years. The goal is to make life easier, to make this device easier for some of our daily tasks and to be able to let us know, for example, when the time has come to leave home to arrive on time for an appointment. But despite its name, we are not before one hundred percent intelligent devices, that is, they do not enjoy autonomy of action, but they will always be governed by what we indicate, although they are already capable of "learning" some of our habits and suggest plans, tasks, etc. according to our tastes and interests.
One of the
defining
characteristics
of the smartphone
is that it is a unique device capable of integrating what we used to do with several devices, which has meant not only greater comfort and efficiency, but also considerable financial savings; a Smartphone is a phone, it is a camera and video, it is GPS, it is a music player, it is a complete browser, and so on. Many already define it as a personal computer in miniature, and the truth is that they are right because we can not only do in it and with it everything we do in a computer, if not much more.
