When we receive a call, a message, an email or any other notification, our smartphone usually vibrates, sounds and shows us a light warning (an LED) to notify us of the event. There are users who use a "single warning" for all events so they have to check the mobile if they want to know what has happened specifically. Other users, on the other hand, prefer to configure notifications in a unique way for each event so that with seeing that notification they already know the exact event that has occurred.
WhatsApp allows us to configure several aspects of your own notifications without the need to resort to third-party applications for it. To access the notification settings we must open the main WhatsApp menu and select the "Settings" option.
In the settings window we must select the option "Notifications.
We will open a new window with many sections to configure.
From this window we can configure all aspects of notifications. As we can see, we can individually configure notifications related to individual chats and groups.
For each one we can choose:
Within the individual conversation chats we can also select a specific and personalized tone for each contact.
At the beginning of this window we see an option called "Conversation Tones". If we deactivate this option, all the sound and light notifications of WhatsApp will be completely deactivated so that our device does not notify us when they send us a message or an event occurs.
To configure WhatsApp notifications more fully we can use some of the applications specifically designed for our mobile operating systems to have more control over them, however, for most users, the standard configuration offered by WhatsApp will be more that enough.
