One of the main reasons why our internet can work slower than normal is because some user is connected to it without our permission. This may be due to several reasons such as having deduced the access password, our router has a vulnerability that has been exploited or simply that we do not have our wireless network properly protected.

To know the people that connect to our router we must look in different ways and monitor the devices that connect and disconnect to our router. Fing is a free application that will allow us to know all the devices that are connected to our router through WiFi and cable directly.

Fing is also available for Android devices through the Play Store, so users of this other operating system can also use this application completely free of charge and free of advertising.

The use of Fing is very simple. The first thing we must do is download it from the App Store or from iTunes and install it on our device. Once the installation is complete, we make sure that we are connected to the WiFi network that we want to analyze. Once connected to the network, we execute the program and automatically start to explore the different devices connected to our network showing relevant information about them.

As we can see, Fing for iOS will show us the IP address of the connected devices, their corresponding MAC addresses and the host name. In this way we can analyze all the devices that appear and see if we know them or, otherwise, it is possible that it is an intruder or unwanted user who is using our bandwidth without permission.

If we click on the corresponding host we can obtain more information about it such as, for example, ping response times, route to the destination, ports and services available in said host, etc.

If we locate an unwanted user on our router it is advisable to change the WiFi access password to prevent it from continuing to connect to our device. In the section of tutorials of networks we have more information on the types of passwords that we can configure in our routers as well as the corresponding codes to apply.

Next we explain in video how to manage the program on Android.
